Jake and Charlotte chose to have their wedding ceremony and reception at Charlotte’s family home, making it a relaxed country wedding.

When Charlotte’s Mum said the morning of the wedding, that she had slept well the night before, even with the wedding on their property, I was confident it was going to be a pretty chilled wedding day, and it was! Charlotte got ready in her family home just metres from where she walked down the aisle and was able to see the guests arrive, including her man, Jake! Of course, she kept well hidden and came down the stairs in their backyard. The page boys bolted down the aisle as if there was no tomorrow while Charlotte looked radiant, her Dad beamed and Jake as good as lost it!  As Jake’s Dad was the marriage celebrant there was a fair degree of tears flowing under that beautiful bridal rose arch made by the lovely Jacqui Casey “I am so excited I get to marry you today and make you mine forever,” said Jake as he popped that ring on her finger.

Wedding reception in a marquee

A marquee for the reception still on the family property meant the guests didn’t have to travel at all, enjoying afternoon tea on the lawns near the ceremony spot before making their way to dinner. Rows of tables set up with a country Australia feel set the tone for a completely relaxed evening. At one stage the generator ran out of fuel, and the father of the groom read his speech by the light of a mobile phone while it was rebooted. It didn’t matter at all – just added to the country weddings at home feel! The couples had caterers that served the most delicious hot dishes, and guests helped themselves from the bayonets. Desserts made by family friends was served with the wedding cake.
Jake and Charlotte went off to start their lives together in Western Australia. Together they are sure to fulfil their promise of making their home “a warm and happy place open to family and friends!”
