Stangate House is 30 minutes from Adelaide in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Being built in the 1940's the house is Heritage listed and part of the National Trust of South Australia. Run by hard working volunteers, the gardens are very well kept and the service the staff provide is warm and accommodating.
There are several large lawned areas for wedding receptions and ceremonies and a lot of shaded area if needs be. The house can be used for wedding ceremonies if it rains and large marquees can also be set up easily with good access made available.
Stangate House has a lot of beautiful trees, large hydrangeas line the creek bed and camellias are large and stunning. Several bridges are found on the property, secluded pathways for romantic wedding photography and steps to another old bridge by the train line for those a little more adventurous.
Some people have their ceremonies at Stangate and their receptions at other venues near by like the Aldgate Village Well. Others choose to hire the grounds for a few hours for their bridal party and couple photos having had their ceremony in a Church nearby.
The hydrangeas and blossoms in Spring, the camellias and coloured leaves in autumn and the shade and other florals in summer makes this a top Adelaide Hills wedding venue and perfect if you are looking for a cottage, country, English inspired, relaxed wedding day!
