Adelaide Botanic Garden Weddings

A winter wedding in the Adelaide Botanic gardens brought a rainbow glow over this gorgeous couple who were giddy with love!

I had taken this pairs engagement photos in the Adelaide Hills six months before their wedding day. It was a tranquil afternoon, they rocked it, we got some awesome images and I very much looked forward to documenting their wedding day!

Arron and Alana were married at Ayers House in the Adelaide CBD. After a group photo and family photos on the lawns of this historical building, we went to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens for photos.

I love the Adelaide Botanic Gardens because there is so much diversity. Firstly there are the beautiful gates as you enter the gardens from Plain Tree Drive. These make for some really interesting photos.

Secondly, there are arches and rows of trees that form arches all over the gardens. The lilac arch in season is tranquil.

Scattered throughout the grounds are pockets of gardens with succulents, Australian natives, roses, and an herbs and spices garden with a lovely water fountain in the centre.

This photo was taken near a forest of trees on one of the many lawned areas. I love the stream of coloured light that shines down on this gorgeous couple. I angle my camera lens in just the right way to give this ethereal look. The couple were seriously in love which makes for the best wedding photos.

Bridges and rotunda's are also useful features for wedding photos and their grand glass Palm House near the succulents garden is quite spectacular inside and out. The Museum and the Conservatory can also make for photos with a difference.

Often other bridal parties are having their wedding photos taken in the gardens but the gardens are big enough to be shared. Adelaide Botanic Gardens has a permit fee for having wedding photos taken in their grounds and limit the number of bridal parties in the gardens at any given time.

Careful note has to be made of their closing time so you don't get stuck. This varies in different seasons. Over the road from the gate entrance is more of the open Botanic Gardens which also make for lovely photos including on the park benches provided if you are looking for somewhere to go after they are closed.

So if you are head over heels with love and engaged to be married, contact Verity to book your wedding photography!
