As an Adelaide Hills Children's Portrait Photographer, I capture the heart of a child by encouraging them to run free and be themselves.
This photo was during an extended family photo shoot. Some of the family lived overseas and interstate, so they don't get together very often. They took the opportunity, while they had it, to all meet together and have some group photos, family photos, couple photos, sibling photos and individual portraits.
With portraits, I coax kids to run as fast as a cheetah, see if they can see a "froggy" in my lens, twirl like a ballerina, jump as high as a kangaroo. They relax, half forget I'm there and we get some natural, carefree children's portraits. Often they start creating their own photo scenarios, which I love because it brings out their real personality and they go home with happy memories and a sense of achievement.
