This family are spread across the world with a few of them living in Canada, so a surprise visit to Adelaide triggered the Mum to ring me and see if I could fit them in for family photographs. Family photographs are invaluable so I always try and accommodate people schedules and needs. We met on that Friday afternoon at Adelaide Veale Gardens which is on the outskirts of the CBD. There is ample space in these beautifully maintained gardens to get family photos where there is no cars or other people in the background.
I'm sure this lovely stone bridge over the creek that runs through the Veale Gardens has had many a family or bridal portrait taken on it as it is at least 50 years old. Before Veale Gardens became tendered gardens it was a place for 3 tennis courts which my dad helped build and often played competitive tennis there as a lad!
Having the creek run through the gardens adds a beautiful reflective element to the photo as does the arching canopy from the tree in the foreground. It was perfect weather for family photos with the sun low and golden.
This family have an enlarged print of this photo and put it on their lounge room wall as well as had a quality album designed and made by Verity Edgecombe Photography with many of their other images taken on the day as a keep sake of their treasured families.
