Embracing A Wet Winter Wedding
Benjy and Kade thought that it might rain on their wedding day. It would only be a little bit, and with a few umbrellas, everything would be fine.
It rained, and rained and rained. It rained all day. Right through the outdoor ceremony, the family photos and the official photos. Added to that was the temperature. 9 degrees celcius. It was cold. People adapted. They rugged up, borrowed towels from the house, shared umbrellas or huddled around the demon heaters.
The afternoon changed from the porch and garden to inside. For the family photos, I stood in the rain with an umbrella and the families stood on the porch. For the bridal party photos, the girls popped on their shawls, and we quickly got a few photos not far from the porch. We got some beautiful photos under some trees with the newlyweds, then a few quick photos in the wet gardens before going inside to thaw out, regroup and enjoy the spectacular reception full of laughter.
For Benjy and Kade, it was 'the best day ever', because they embraced what was and got on with enjoying it, however it came and have such a great wedding day story to tell.
We are sooooo excited to have these pictures! AND SOOOOO STOKED with how they came out!!
Thank you guys (Micah and Verity) for being the worlds best photographers from beginning to end and even in very trialing circumstances!!
